Home Theater

With the recent advances in video, computer, and audio technologies, you can now experience movies in your own environment that rival, and even surpass, those of traditional movie theaters.

Technical advances and innovative installation techniques now allow the integration of home theater into any room plan. No longer is a dedicated media room necessary—any den, bedroom, living room, playroom, for example, will stylishly accommodate a home theater system.

Home theater also adds drama to room design. As the room comes to life, its still-life dimensionality takes a back seat to the changing visual and sound dynamics of the home theater system.

Another benefit of home theater occurs in a room whose size dictates an overly long distance from the viewing screen to the seating area—the larger presentation of home theater provides quality viewing in today's spacious, open floorplans.

To transfer the audio and visual excitement experienced in a movie theater to your own home theater, three criteria are necessary:

	A large viewing screen (27" and up). Since smaller screens don't involve the viewer's peripheral vision the same way a large screen will, the difference in impact and drama is substantial.
	High quality surround sound system. With this a room takes on the acoustical environment of the audio and/or video program.
	Lighting control and room environment. Most importantly, a room that imitates a movie theater in its ability to go completely dark heightens the visual impact of the on-screen action.
